Wind Symphony

The Howard University Wind Symphony, conducted by Kelvin Washington, is one of the premiere performing ensembles in the Department of Music / Office of Choirs and Bands. It is among the top collegiate symphonic bands in the country, and maintains a vigorous performance and rehearsal schedule throughout the academic year.

The Wind Symphony rehearses 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) from 3:10 - 5:00 PM in the Band Room on the lower level of Childers Hall.


Ensemble membership is open to all Howard University students. Ensemble auditions are held at the discretion of the ensemble director. Interested students are encouraged to contact Kelvin Washington by email or in person to schedule an audition.
